Record Setting Night for Spartans

CARLINVILLE, Ill. - The University of Dubuque women's basketball team kept on their high scoring pace on Tuesday night with a record setting night on the road. The Spartans tied the school record for points scored in a game with 110 last week and broke the record tonight with a 112-89 victory over the Blackburn College Beavers.

Two additional school records fell, the Spartans scored 70 points in the second half which established a new school mark and UD ended the night with 28 assists, which was also a record performance for coach Mark Noll and the Spartans.

Freshman Daneshia Snitker broke out and showed what she is capable of after leading the Spartans with a 24 point performance in just 20 minutes of action. She finished the night shooting a perfect 11-11 from the floor. Jenna Kotas trailed with 18 points and led the Spartans in rebounding with five. Jessica Goetz added 12 points off the bench as teammates Emily Brinker and Adrianna Stephens both finished with 10 points each. Twenty Spartans saw action with 14 Spartans scoring in the victory and UD's bench out scored the host Beavers 51-24. The Spartans are averaging 97.5 points a game in four contests this season.

UD shot 46.5% from the field (40-86), 34.8% from the three point area (8-23), and 64.9% from the free throw area (24-37). The Spartans largest lead of the night was 35 points with 6:47 to go in the contest. 

The Spartans 3-1 overall will take a short break for Thanksgiving holiday before returning to action at UW-LaCrosse on Saturday, Nov. 30.
