8th Annual Jim Fox Spartan Open Results

DUBUQUE, IOWA - The University of Dubuque Wrestling team hosted the 8th Annual Jim Fox Spartan Open on Saturday with 133 individuals taking part in the event. The Spartans top finisher was Dan Howell (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) with a second place finish in the 285 lbs. division. Kody Krenz (Letts, Iowa/Louisa-Muscatine) finished in third place at 133 lbs. while also picking up three wins by fall.
Other top place winners for UD were Manny Mendoza (Salinas, Calif./Everett Alvarez) at 165 lbs. and Drew Lattner (Chander, Ariz./Chandler) at 285 lbs. with fourth place finishes. Freshman Logan Staver (Stockton, Ill./Stockton) earned two pins at 197 lbs.
Matt Paulus of Upper Iowa finished with a tournament high five falls and finished in fourth place at 133 lbs. The University of Northern Iowa led all teams with four winners. The University of Iowa and Luther College each placed eight individuals in the top three.
Individuals competed from Dubuque (D-III), Iowa (D-I), Loras (D-III), Luther (D-III), Northern Iowa (D-I), Upper Iowa (D-II), UW-Stevens Points (D-III), and Wisconsin (D-I).
