Men's Tennis Drop Dual to Eagles

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's tennis team lost to the UW-La Crosse Eagles in a dual meet on Saturday in Chlapaty Recreation and Wellness Center by a 0-9 score. The Spartans fall to 4-9 overall while the Eagles improved to a 15-2 record.

UD opened the dual with three losses in the doubles matches and the Eagles captured all six singles matches to capture the dual meet victory. Matthew Sablay/Ranfer Hernandez lost #1 doubles by a 8-2 score; Richard Rhinehart/Nikolay Gospodinov lost #2 doubles 8-1; and Jordan Hamling/Tim Drummond lost #3 doubles by an 8-2 mark.

In singles action Richard Rhinehart lost #1 singles 6-3, 6-2; Matthew Sablay lost #2 singles 6-1, 6-3; Nikolay Gospodinov fell by a 6-2, 6-2 at #3 singles; Ranfer Hernandez was defeated at #4 singles 6-2, 6-1; Jordan Hamling lost 6-0, 6-2 at #5 singles; and Zebulon Hill lost 6-0, 6-1 at #6 singles.

The Spartans travel to Mount Vernon, Iowa for their next match against the Cornell College Rams on April 4 at 11:00 a.m.
