Eight Spartans Named to USTFCCCA All-Region Team

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Dubuque track and field teams saw five Spartan men and three Spartan women receive USTFCCCA All-Central Region indoor honors.

To be named All-Region, the student-athlete must be ranked Top-5 of an individual event or be part of a Top-3 relay team within the region according to the final Track & Field Results Reporting System (TFRRS) results.

On the men’s side, senior Kebba Bojang (triple jump), junior Jeremy Lawson (high jump), sophomore Alec Bass (5,000m), freshmen CJ Jackson (triple jump), and freshman Blaze Murfin (weight throw) all received honors after wrapping up a successful indoor season.

Sophomore Tanasha Atwater paced the women by earning All-Region honors in both throwing events while Alexis Higgins (high jump) and Amanda Zbilski (pole vault) were also honored.

Both Murfin (weight throw) and Atwater (shot put), set both shot put and weight throw school records for the men and women, respectively, and will compete in the upcoming Division III National Indoor Championships this Friday, March 11 and Saturday, March 12.
