Spartans Men's Golf in 5th, Prepare for Final Round

DECORAH, Iowa - After 63 holes host Luther College is leading the 2016 Iowa Conference Men's Golf Championship by eight shots with a team total of 1,058 strokes. Trent Lindenman of Simpson is the individual leader at 256 (+4) and holds a seven shot lead. The final 9 holes of the championships will be played on Saturday morning beginning at 9:00 a.m.
The Norse took a big lead after Round 3 by posting a 301 to take an 18 shot lead. Wartburg has been consistent throughout the championships with a 309-308-304-145 (1066) for a second place standing with nine holes to play. Central rounds out the top-three at 1,076.
Chasing Lindenman in the individual race is Luther's Elliot Horst who ented the day as the co-leader. Horst shot a 78 and 39 on Friday for a total of 263 which trails Linderman by seven shots. Walker Adams of Central and Tanner Randall of Wartburg are in third place at 264. The Wartburg duo of Michael Canfield and Hunter Giesselmann are tied for fifth at 265. Lindenman and Walker shot the lowest rounds of the day with 73's during round three.
Tee times for Buena Vista and Coe begin at 9:00 a.m. The first trio from Dubuque, Loras, and Simpson hit the course at 9:37 a.m. Central, Luther, and Wartburg start their rounds at 10:15 a.m.
