COMPLETE RESULTS
DUBUQUE, Iowa – Sophomore Tanasha Atwater broke the school record in the hammer throw as the Spartan throwers cruised to three victories and the UD hurdling crew, led by freshman Isabella Solis, broke one school record and set three Top-5 times in school history as the University of Dubuque women’s track team competed at Loras’ Dr. Tucker Open on Friday night.

No team scores were kept in a meet occupied primarily by Iowa Conference schools in Buena Vista, Loras, Coe, and Simpson, along with Cornell and a handful of unattached competitors. All five IIAC squads will compete in the Iowa Conference outdoor championships starting next Thursday, May 12 at Wartburg.

Between both men’s and women’s teams, the Spartans set 25 personal records, two UD school records, three Iowa Conference leaders, and three Top-25 Division III marks.

Atwater continued her tear with a pair of victories in the hammer throw (53.72m/176-3) and the shot put (14.43m/47-4.25). The sophomore set the hammer throw school record that leads the Iowa Conference and sits seventh in the nation. She already leads the country in the shot put and has won a total of eight throwing events this outdoor season.

Placing second behind Atwater in the shot put and hammer throw, respectively, was Lauren Egnarski, who posted a mark of 12.48m/40-11.5 in the shot put that ranks second in UD history, and senior Nicole Forson, who’s hammer throw mark of 49.58m/162-8 is now 25th in the nation.

Fellow sophomore Abby Willis won her second career outdoor event with a win in the javelin (36.45m/119-7) that set a personal record and now ranks second in school history and the Iowa Conference.

Freshman hurdler Isabella Solis secured two personal records in a pair of third-place showings in both the 100m hurdles (15.20) and the 400m hurdles (1:04.70) with the latter setting a new school record. The hurdling crew set the second, third, and fourth-best times in school history in the 100m hurdles behind MichelleAnn Sanchez (15.15 in prelims), Solis (15.20), and Brittany Burks (15.48 in prelims).
