Men's Tennis Improve to 4-0

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's tennis team improved to 4-0 in their early season after capturing two wins on Saturday over Ripon College 9-0 and against Buena Vista University 8-1.
Justin Castro won an inspired match against the Buena Vista Beavers, when up one set (7-5), his arm began to cramp up in the second set down 4-5. A short injury time with ATC would help return him to action. He made the most of his return and captured the next three sets to win the intense match, which could have gone either way.
"It's always good to begin the season with victories," added coach Claudio Giraldi. "We lost last year to BV and to open the IIAC season against them and earn the 8-1 victory gives our student-athletes some confidence. We have plenty of work to do and areas to improve upon, but I'm very happy to be 4-0."
The Spartans travel to play Wisconsin Lutheran on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 9:00 a.m.
