Women's Soccer Fall In Defensive battle

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Dubuque women’s soccer team dropped a hard fought defensive dominated battle to UW-Oshkosh 0-1 on Oyen Field on Saturday.

UW-Oshkosh’s AJ Jackson scored midway through the first half to give the Titans the lead and managed to hang on for the remainder of the game. Other than the lone goal, both keepers were very solid. Spartan goalie, Paige Dykstra, recorded six saves, as the Titans keeper, Madelyn Runyan, stopped four Spartan shots on her way to a shutout.

UD did not go without their chances however, despite just four shots on goal, the Spartans had several scoring other opportunities. Kyleigh McLaughlin managed three shots on the afternoon for Dubuque, with one on being on goal.

UD will travel to face Cornell College in Mt. Vernon on Tuesday, September 6 at 4:30 p.m.
