Allard Voted Second Team All-Iowa Conference

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Iowa Conference announced the 2018 Softball All-Conference Teams on Wednesday afternoon and Taylor Allard was the lone Spartan to be named to the list. Allard was named Second Team All-Iowa Conference by the Iowa Conference coaches.
Allard, a sophomore that hails from led the Spartans in nearly early offensive statistical category in 2018. Allard hit .421 (51-for-121) with 11 doubles, two home runs and eight walks to total 68 bases and an on base percentage of .454. She also drove in 23 runs and scored 18 of her own. In the field, Allard recorded 41 putouts and three assists.
Allard’s .421 batting average was good enough for seventh best in the Iowa Conference. She played in all of the Spartans 38 games and started in 37 of them. Allard led the Iowa Conference with runners on at .493, had the third best batting average with two outs at .491 and hit .532 in RBI opportunities which was third best in the IIAC.
