Baseball Set For Final Week of Regular Season

DUBUQUE, Iowa – After a sweep of Loras over the weekend, the University of Dubuque baseball team heads into the final week of the regular season tied for first place in the Iowa Conference. The Spartans close out the 2018 regular season with four home contests.

The Spartans (17-15, 12-5 IIAC) start out the final week of the regular season with a mid-week game against Luther College (23-11, 13-7 IIAC) on May 1st. First pitch against the Norse is set for 3:00 p.m. UD then takes on Nebraska Wesleyan (9-23, 5-15 IIAC) in a three game weekend series beginning Friday afternoon. Game one on Friday is at 3:00 p.m. for a single game and a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 12:00 p.m.

Kueter Pitcher of the Week
Chase Kueter earned Iowa Conference Pitcher of the Week after picking up two conference wins last week. Kueter threw a combined 12 innings, scattering 13 hits and only allowing three earned runs. He fanned eight Duhawks in Saturday’s 2-1 victory.

On Base Streaks
Thomas Kempf is one game away from tying the longest on base streak by a Spartan this season. Kempf is currently at 18 consecutive game, Dalton Garst has the season best of 19. Kellen Mitchell currently has a 13 game on base streak.
