Wins at Les Duke Invite, Men Finish 7th, Women 5th

GRINNELL, Iowa - The University of Dubuque cross country teams traveled to Grinnell on Saturday for the 56th Les Duke CC Invite where the Spartan women finished in fifth place and the men finished tied for seventh.

After missing the first week of competition, Alec Bass picked right back up where he left off in his 2016 All-American season by winning the men's competition in a time of 24:55. After Bass, Dalton Moore finished in 27:07 and in 28th place for his second personal record in as many weeks. Following Moore it was a cluster of Spartans with the rest of the pack finishing within the next minute.

The women had another solid outing in the second meet of the year with a fifth place finish. The Spartans were very balanced with the top five finishing betwen 26th and 39th. Jaclyn Roeder led UD once again with a personal best time of 24:26. Abigail Ray was not far behind as she also set a personal record and finished just 32 seconds behind Roeder.
