DUBUQUE, Iowa – University of Dubuque women’s soccer player, Lauren Cangelosi, picked up Iowa Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors for her play last week in UD’s 2-0 win over Luther.

Cangelosi, a junior from Clarendon Hills, Illinois, played a part in both of the Spartans goals on Tuesday night. She assisted on the first goal of the match when she sent a free kick to McKenna Young who scored. Cangelosi added an insurance goal later in the match to seal the victory for UD. The win gave the Spartans the number two seed in the Iowa Conference Tournament and a bye into the semifinals.

Cangelosi has started all 16 games for UD this season, leading the Spartans with 17 points, nine assists and tied for the lead with four goals during the 2017 campaign.

This is the first time that a Spartan has earned offensive player of the week honors this season after earning defensive player of the week honors twice earlier this season.
