Cirque Zuma Zuma to Perform at Heritage Center

DUBUQUE, Iowa – America’s Got Talent finalist Cirque Zuma Zuma will perform as part of the fifth annual Live at Heritage Center Performing Arts Series on Thursday, Oct. 5, at 7:30 p.m. in John and Alice Butler Hall. Cirque Zuma Zuma, known as the “ultimate African circus,” packs every show with non-stop action and incredible feats that keep audiences on the edge of their seats.

Cirque Zuma Zuma, a touring arm of the African Acrobats International, was established in 2005 with a mission of teaching the world about African cultures. The group has performed at theatres, colleges, charity events, and corporate and government functions. They have entertained several heads of states from Kenya, China, and Swaziland and have toured Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and the United States. They also made it to the semifinals in Season 6 of NBC’s America’s Got Talent.

Cirque Zuma Zuma features disciplined performers who are trained in Kenya and Tanzania. Many have described the show as an African-style Cirque du Soleil. The performances showcases an array of talents mixed with some of the best skills associated with African variety acts. With live music, percussionists, and colorful costumes, the talented cast performs an action-packed show consisting of a cultural flag dance, pole and aerial acts, Egyptian limbo dances, South African gumboot dances, Gabonese tumbling, and South African contortionist feats that will keep the audience breathless. The show is full of incredible demonstrations of talent, physical excellence, African tradition, music, and a whole lot of fun! Audiences and critics agree, Cirque Zuma Zuma is unlike anything they have ever seen before.
