Davis and Joseph Named IIAC Players of the Week

DUBUQUE, Iowa – University of Dubuque volleyball player Karrah Davis was selected as Iowa Conference Female Athlete of the Week and Offensive Volleyball Player of the Week and football’s Michael Joseph was voted IIAC Defensive Player of the Week.

Karrah Davis (Senior, Dubuque, Iowa) was named IIAC Female Athlete of the Week and IIAC Offensive Volleyball Player of the Week after she helped lead the Spartans go 5-0 last week to improve to 12-0 this season. In UD’s five-set victory over Luther on Wednesday, Davis led all attackers with 27 kills, hitting .257%, averaging 5.4 kills per set, and added 23 digs in the win. After four more wins at the Knox College Tournament, she had 64 kills and 45 digs, averaging 4.92 kills per set and 3.46 digs per set for the week. At the Knox College Tournament she had a hitting percentage of .354.

Michael Joseph (Senior, Chicago, Ill.) earned IIAC Football Defensive Player of the Week for his play in UD’s 27-24 thrilling win over crosstown rival, Loras. Joseph had six tackles on Saturday, 2 solo and four assists, as well as snagging two interceptions when the Spartans defense was backed up. His two interceptions gives him five on the season, the most in NCAA Division III.
