Lake Named IIAC Male Athlete of the Week

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – University of Dubuque men’s basketball player, TJ Lake, was named Iowa Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week and Male Athlete of the Week after his record breaking performance against Loras.
Lake exploded for 50 points in UD’s 98-91 loss at Loras on Wednesday night. Lake’s 50 points, eight made three pointers and making 18 of 18 free throws are all school records. Lake was 12-20 from the field and 8-12 from beyond the arc, while adding four assists.
Lake leads the Iowa Conference in scoring, averaging 24.2 points per game and three pointers made with 53 total and 4.1 per game. He is second in the conference at the free throw line, making 60 of 68 for 88.2%. Lake has scored 21 points or more in all but two of the Spartans 13 games this season.
UD returns to the court on Wednesday when they host Buena Vista University at 8:00 p.m. at the Stoltz Sports Center.
