Men's Basketball Enjoy Record Setting Night on Thanksgiving Eve

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's basketball couldn't miss on Wednesday night en route to a 102-83 dominating win over the Rockford University Regents on Jon Davison Court. The Spartans set a new school record by sinking 19 three pointers in the game, breaking the old mark set against Loras College on Feb. 1, 2006 (14). Seven Spartans sank a deep ball in the victory.
Under the watchful eyes of legendary UD coach, Jon Davison, he joined the staff as the night's guest coach. UD opened the first half sinking 19-30 shots attempts (63.3%), made 20-34 shots from the field in the second half (58.8%) to end the evening 39-64, for a a season high 60.9% shooting. UD led for 39:16 of the game and stretched lead to 26 points with 6:17 remaining in game. T.J. Lake finished with a game high 28 points, after sinking 11-16 shots from the field and 6-10 from beyond the three point arc. Jamaree Atwater added 18 points, five assists in 25 minutes. Henry Thompson was 4-6 from the floor to end with 12 points and Marcus McDaniel had 11 points.
UD improves to 5-0 overall and will host the Wartburg College Knights in the Iowa Conference opener on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 8:00 p.m.
