Men's Lacrosse Ends Conference Play with a Loss

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The University of Dubuque men’s lacrosse team wrapped up conference action on Wednesday night, falling to North Central College, 19-4.

The Spartans fell behind after a quick three goals from North Central but Ben Gallagher made it a 3-1 game off of an assist from Michael Julius with 7:53 left in the first quarter. However, the Cardinals would hold the Spartans in check for the remainder of the half and end the half with six unanswered goals.

Ben Gallagher scored midway through the third quarter for his second goal of the game and Michael Jango and Joe Furnstahl both scored a goal in the fourth quarter to round out the scoring for the Spartans. UD assisted on all four of their goals by four different players. 

UD goalie, Kyle Mullis, stopped eight North Central shots on 46 attempts. The Spartans held North Central to three of seven on extra man opportunities.

The two teams combined for 19 penalties and 19:30 of penalty time, but UD committed just eight for seven minutes

The Spartans close out the season on Saturday when they travel to North Central University in Minneapolis, Minnesota at 2:00 p.m.
