Men's Soccer All-Conference Released

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – University of Dubuque men’s soccer players Chris Rigby and Kyle Klatka were named IIAC All-Conference on Wednesday. Brandon White, Matheus Dos Santos and Tim Gustavsson were selected as honorable mention.   

Chris Rigby, a sophomore from Algonquin, Illinois, started 16 of the 17 games he played in and tallied nine points with three goals and three assists during the regular season. Rigby was third in Iowa Conference with 72 shots and 4.24 shots per game. Kyle Klatka (Lake in the Hills, Ill.) started all 17 games in his senior campaign. As a defender, Klatka only took eight shots during the season; however four of them resulted in goals, two of which were game winners.

Senior, Matheus Dos Santos was joined by two of his freshman teammates, Brandon White and Tim Gustavsson on the honorable mention list. Dos Santos (Sau Paulo, Brazil) recorded one goal and four assists in his 17 games.

Brandon White, the freshman goalkeeper from Minooka, Illinois, saw action in all 17 games with 13 starts. White grabbed 63 saves in 1353:20 minutes in the net in 2017. He was second in the IIAC pitching four shutouts and fifth in save percentage at .778. Tim Gustavsson (Skoevde, Sweeden) started and played at defender in all 17 games in the regular season. Gustavsson put up one goal on five shots. 

The Spartans men’s soccer team finished the regular season 8-5-3 and fifth in the Iowa Conference. UD went 4-1-2 at home in the 2017 season.
