DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque moved to within two games of the Iowa Conference leader on Wednesday evening on Oyen Field after a 3-0 victory over the Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves. The Spartans attacked first at 31:24 when Matheus Santos scored the first goal of the game. Kyle Klatka used a header twice to score in the second half. Klatka's first goal 49:38 off a corner kick from Andrew Guelle. His second happened at 72:45 on a corner kick from Dominik Chece.
The victory dropped the Prairie Wolves down to fourth in league play (4-3) and UD moved into fifth place (3-2-1) with a pair of games left. UD travels on Saturday, Oct. 21 to Storm Lake to face the Beavers of Buena Vista (4-11-1 overall, 1-5 in IIAC) before finishing regular season play on Oct. 24 at home against the Luther College Norse (9-4-3 overall and 5-1 in the IIAC).
The first round of the Iowa Conference begins on Oct. 28 at the higher seed with the semifinals on Nov. 1 at higher seed and the championship game being played on Nov. 4 with the higher seed as the host school.
