Softball Continues Tough Road Schedule

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The University of Dubuque softball team contined their tough road stretch on Thursday at UW-Platteville. The Spartans dropped both games, lost game one by a 0-6 margin and lost game two by a score of 2-9. 

UD garnered just four hits in the opener and seven hits in the second game. Markin ended the day 4-7 at the plate and scored the Spartans only runs on the day in game two. Taylor Allard was 3-7 in her at bats, and Brandy Heraty went 3-4. Defensively UD committed five costly errors on the day and have 64 miscues on the season. Taylor Blair took the loss in game one after allowing just three earned runs in the complete seven inning game. In game two, Mackenzie Kopp took the loss after allowing seven earned runs in nine hits in three innings of work.

The Spartans (5-21 overall and 1-3 in IIAC) are scheduled to play at Wartburg College on Saturday in Waverly, Iowa, but current weather forecasts are not too favorable to get the games in over the weekend.
