Spartans Dropped by #7 Coe College

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque wrestling team was beaten by the 7th-ranked Coe College Kohawks on Friday's Senior Night, 38-9.
The match started off at 157 between 7th-ranked Quincy Kalkbrenner and 5th-ranked Cole Erickson and Kalkbrenner started the meet out with a bang, pinning Erickson in 2:44 to give the Spartans a 6-0 lead. Coe responded with two falls of their own and a decision before and exciting match at 197. With time winding down, UD's Ethan Cain got two back points before the horn to send the match into overtime. In the first overtime, there was a mad scramble before Coe's Holladay ended up with a takedown for the overtime win. Daniel Petrela followed up Cain at 285, to get UD's second win of the night, defeating Brennan Koerperich, 3-1.
