Spartans Sparked by Lake's Scoring, Fall Short

BOX SCORE vs. Clarke

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's basketball lost a heartbreaker to Clarke University 74-77. T.J Lake dominated the scoring and finished with 34 points, including seven shots from beyond the three point arc. Jamaree Atwater added 18 points and Justin Smith led rebounding with 12. Lake scored the Spartans final 13 points in the loss, including a pair of threes in the final seconds.

UD sank 26-72 shot attempts from the field (36.1%), 12-34 three point attempts (35.3%), and made 10-20 at the free throw line (50%). The Spartans scored 19 points off Clarke's 13 turnovers, but the hosts dominated in the paint scoring 22 points. 

Clarke grabbed 43 defensive rebounds while UD had 30 and Clarke led overall 49-40 at the glass.
