Spartans Sweep on Senior Night

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque volleyball team moved to 24-2 after sweeping Iowa Wesleyan 3-0 (25-22, 25-10, 25-20) on Senior Night.
After beign honored before the match, all four of UD's seniors, Meagan Albon, Karrah Davis, Lauren Egnaski and Alyssa Cose, started on Wednesday night. Karrah Davis led the Spartans with 20 kills on the night, while also pitching in seven digs. Lauren Egnarski had the second most kills in the match for UD with nine and Alyssa Cose had 37 of the team's 39 assists. Meagan Albon recorded seven digs throughout the three sets.
As a team, UD did not have more than five attack errors in a single set and had hitting percentages of .238, .370 and .256. On the defensive end, the held Iowa Wesleyan to hitting percentages of .106, -.074 and .108, while forcing the Tigers into 21 errors. No one for the Tigers had more than six kills. All four of UD's blocks were solo blocks, coming from Egnarski, Davis, Cose and Rylee Andresen.
The Spartans have their final home two matches of the season on Saturday when they host Wheaton College at 12:00 p.m. and Carroll University at 2:30 in the Stoltz Sports Center.
