Tjaarda and Carlson Earn CCIW All-Conference

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Breann Tjaarda and Claire Carlson of the University of Dubuque women’s lacrosse team picked up CCIW postseason honors. Tjaarda was named first team all-conference, while Carlson was selected second team all-conference.
Tjaarda a senior from Aurora, Illinois, lead the Spartans in goals, points, ground balls and draw controls in 2018. Tjaarda totaled 48 goals and nine assists for 57 points, picked up 78 ground balls and won 80 draw controls. Breann scored a game-high seven goals in a game twice this season, against Clarke and Augustana.
Carlson, a sophomore out of Blaine, Minnesota, finished second on the team in goals behind Tjaarda with 35. Carlson led UD with 15 assists to finish with 50 points, she also scooped up 52 ground balls and 39 draw controls. Carlson totaled a game-high eight points in a win at Northwestern with four goals and four assists.
