UD Add Custom Applications for Spartans Network

DUBUQUE, Iowa– The University of Dubuque, in conjunction with streaming partner Stretch Internet, is pleased to announce that fans can now access FREE HD video content from the UD Spartans Network through custom applications on Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Android TV.
UD Spartans Network, home of UD athletic broadcasts, enters its 12th year of existence. The Spartans broadcasted well over 100 events in the past year.
"Our on-campus media services and athletic department have provided live video for nearly every sport throughout the school year worldwide,” commented Paul Misner, Director of Sports Information. “Athletics have added a play-by-play announcer for many broadcasts this year and continue to expand the free service produced by mainly a staff of students workers with Stretch Internet's dynamic platform.”
UD was the first school in the Iowa Conference to utilize Stretch Internet for online streaming content. The opportunity to expand the reach in HD quality while simultaneously continuing to highlight student-athletes and their University experience, as a TV experience, is all positive for everyone.
These custom apps will provide fans a seamless way to access content directly on their TVs – with no need to "relay" or "cast" the stream from tablets, phones, or desktop computers. Users can access the content simply by searching for "University of Dubuque" on the app interfaces on any of the compatible devices, and then downloading the free app.
Using the professionally-designed, intuitive interface, fans can easily view a schedule of live, upcoming, and on-demand broadcasts for athletic contests, coaches shows, Hall of Fame induction ceremonies, and other campus events.
UD has teamed with Stretch Internet to provide live streaming video of home games for football, volleyball, men's and women's soccer, wrestling, men's and women's basketball, indoor and outdoor track and field, men’s and women’s lacrosse, softball and baseball.
The live video allows parents, friends and alumni to tune into regular-season home athletic contests and campus events at no cost.
The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference also joined the platform. Additional conference away broadcasts may also be available when you add/search for the Iowa Conference Portal.
