UD Fine and Performing Arts Department Presents Charles Barland Faculty Organ Recital

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Charles Barland, DMA, professor of music and head of the Department of Fine and Performing Arts at the University of Dubuque, will perform an organ recital on Tuesday, Feb. 20, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. The concert is free and open to the public.

Lament and Devotion: A Lenten Musical Journey will feature pieces that relate to the Lenten season and will include music of Johann Sebastian Bach, Felix Mendelssohn, Johannes Brahms, and several other composers including a current Hungarian-born American composer residing in Boston. The University of Dubuque Concert Choir will also present a few pieces related to the theme of lament and devotion.
A freewill offering will be accepted to benefit the choir’s annual tour.
