2018 Prairie Wolf Invite Results

LINCOLN, Neb. – The University of Dubuque track and field teams won three individual events and had eight top three place finishers at the Prairie Wolf Indoor Invite hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan at the Devaney Sports Center.

All three winners on Friday night came on the men’s side. After winning the 200m dash and finishing second in the 55m dash last weekend at the Sol Butler Classic, Kyle Thomas continued to impress, winning the 60m dash in 6.95 and the 200m dash in 22.11. The final winner of the afternoon for the Spartans was Alec Bass. Bass, competing in his first meet of the season, did not waste any time, taking the 3000m in a time of 8:40.70.

Three other men Spartans had top three finishes. For the second straight meet, freshman Darrion Morgan placed second in the high jump, with a top mark of 2.01m. Despite finishing in second in the triple jump after winning it last weekend, Blaze Barista improved, finishing with a jump of 13.83 after  last week’s jump of 13.61. Colfay Pointer wrapped up the men’s side with a third place finish in the 400m with a time of 49.75

On the women’s side, Heather Muntz led the Spartans with a second place finish in the 600m dash. In her first time running the 600m, Muntz posted a finishing time of 1:41.41. Alyssa Skrove had a top jump of 10.83m in the triple jump, good enough for a third place finish.

The Spartans have a pair of meets next week, heading to the UNI Jack Jennett Invite on Friday and the UW-Platteville Invite on Saturday.
