DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Dubuque is pleased to announce the addition of a Master in Management (MM) program, which will begin fall 2018. The 30 credit hour degree is designed to be completed in as little as one year and no more than two years.

“I’m excited that this program is built around student needs and hopes. Our students have been telling us that they would like a degree that strengthens their management skills and that provides a degree of flexibility and focus. Coursework in the program will closely align with students’ work experience and allow them to select a concentration from two areas of interest,” said Mark Ward, PhD, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the faculty.

Courses will be offered in eight-week accelerated formats. In addition, students will complete 600 hours of work experience through an internship. Students will be able to focus their studies in communication or sport management.

In the MM program, students will develop an understanding and application of management practices and leadership skills in an organization. Not only will students gain practical competence in a specific field of study through real-world work experience, but they will also be prepared to think strategically, integrate and construct new knowledge, develop intrapersonal and interpersonal competencies, and apply excellent moral character to the practices of an organization.

The Master in Business Administration degree, which the University has offered for over 30 years, will continue to be offered to adult students in the LIFE (Learning Institute for Fulfillment and Engagement) program in an accelerated five-week format. Additionally, UD will continue to offer the MBA for our Asian cohorts in the full-term, 16 week model.
