Volleyball Lose on the Road, Host First Round of IIAC Tourney

2017 IIAC Volleyball Tournament 

WAVERLY, Iowa - The University of Dubuque volleyball team battled an intense first set losing 30-32 to the Wartburg College Knights and lost the match 0-3 on Tuesday night by set scores 32-30, 25-5, 25-12

The Spartans were led in kills by senior Karrah Davis with nine. Teammates Kara Wright finished with seven an Rylee Andresen had five kills in the loss.Jenna Runde led the defense with 18 defensive digs, Grace Strawser had 12 and Davis 10. Alyssa Cose earned 23 set assists, Wight collected three blocks and Davis had two aces.

UD would finish the regular season as the #4 seed and will host the #5 seed Coe College Kohawks on Tuesday, Oct. 31 in the First Round of the 2017 IIAC Volleyball Tournament in Stoltz Sports Center. Tie-breakers used: BVU defeated Dubuque head-to-head to earn the No.3 seed and Nebraska Wesleyan defeated Loras head-to-head to earn the No.6 seed.
