Volleyball Suffers Second Loss of the Season

STORM LAKE, Iowa - On the second night of a back to back, the University of Dubuque volleyabll team suffered their second loss of the season, falling victim to Buena Vista, 3-2 (20-25,25-22,19-25,25-19,15-13).

After taking two of the first three sets, Buena Vista rallied to take the final two and the match. The Spartans were at their best offensively in the first set when they posted 14 kills and a hitting percentage of .289. Their second best set was the third with a hitting percentage of .167.

Karrah Davis came up with yet another double-double as she posted 19 kills and 16 digs against the Beavers. Jenna Runde led the Spartans in digs with 25 of the team's 90. UD had five different players reach double digit digs. As a team, the Spartans recorded eight blocks, led by Paige Harbort with four assists. Rylee Andresen had two solo blocks and an assist, while Kara Wright had one solo and three assists.

The loss puts UD at 20-2 overall and 4-2 in the Iowa Conference. The Spartans travel to Grinnell College on Tuesday.
