Women's Basketball Travels to Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Dubuque women’s basketball teams heads to Nashville, Tennessee to participate in the Music City Classic. The tournament is hosted by Trevecca Nazarene University and features 10 games over the course of December 29th and 30th.
The Spartans will get underway at the Music City Classic at 1:00 p.m. CST on the 29th against Wesleyan University. Wesleyan University is out of Middletown, Connecticut and the New England Small College Athletic Conference and is 6-2 on the season. UD will then face off against Shenandoah University on the 30th at 5:00 p.m. CST. Shenandoah University is based in Winchester, Virginia and plays in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.
Heading into the tournament, Abbey Meyer leads the Spartans in scoring, averaging 16.7 points per game. Two other Spartans are averaging double figure points as well, Morgan Boer with 10.2 points per game and Cece Pope right behind Boer with 10.1 points per game. Meyer also shares the lead for assists per game with Madison Boer at 2.4 assists per game.
