Women's Golf 5th in IIAC Championships After Opening Weekend

WATERLOO, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's golf team sits in fifth place, just eight strokes out of fourth place in the 2017 Iowa Conference Women's Golf Championships after the opening weekend. The Spartans were consistent and fired off rounds of 340 and 340 to finish the first weekend with a team score of 680. 

UD's Elizabeth Stalla (85-83-168) and Daniele Miranda (83-85-168) tied for 17th overall and Caroline Giorgi (82-87-169) tied for 20th as UD put three in the top-20. 

Central College is your 2017 Iowa Conference Women's Golf Championship leader after two rounds at 645, leading second-place Wartburg by two strokes and third-place Luther by six strokes. Simpson is fourth (672), Dubuque fifth (680), Nebraska Wesleyan sixth (681), Buena Vista seventh (697), Loras eighth (753) and Coe ninth (851).

Round three will take place Friday and Saturday, October 6-7 at Indianola Country Club, Indianola, Iowa. Play will begin at 10:00 a.m. on both days.
