Women's Soccer Upend Kohawks

DUBUQUE, Iowa – After a scoreless first half, the University of Dubuque women’s soccer team struck twice early in the second half to lift them to a 2-1 win over Coe College on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
-Lauren Cangelosi started the game with a shot in the third minute for the Spartans. Coe would go on to attempt the next four shots over the following 26 minutes.
-Coe outshot the Spartans 5-4 in the first half but each team only recorded one shot on goal.  
-The Spartans began the second half on the attack, peppering the Kohawks with four goals in the first six minutes of the half and finally scoring on the fourth shot when Lauren Cangelosi lofted a corner kick inot the box and Olivia Sullivan headed it into the net.
-Just seven minutes later, UD added an insurance goal when Alexa Martin sent a pass into the box, which was deflected but still found Tiffany Limmex who was able to sneak it past the Coe goalie.
-The Kohawks had a late push which scored a goal in the 86th minute but the Spartan defense held strong for the remaining four minutes to complete the win.
