LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The University of Dubuque women's tennis opened the athletic season for the Spartans and earned a split on the road. The Spartans began with a 2-7 loss to host Lake Forest College before rebounding against Concordia - Chicago in a 9-0 victory.
Returning Iowa Conference A Flight singles champion, Arantxa Martinez earned four victories on Saturday. She went 2-0 at #1 singles and won a pair of doubles victories with partners Madeline Parker and Megan Ranney. Martinez finished 2016 with a perfect 20-0 #1 singles record and has extended her win streak to 22 at #1 singles.
