AVCA Selects Wright as Honorable Mention All-American

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Assosicated announced their All-Americans for the 2018 volleyball season, naming Kara Wright honorable mention.
A junior from Stockton, Illinois, Wright helped lead the Spartans to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1998 and first conference tournament championship since 1995. Wright was named American Rivers Conference Most Valuable Player after she led the conference in kills with 387 and was second in kills per set at 3.81.
Wright did a little bit of everything for UD in 2018 as she also collected 20 service aces, 409 digs and 62 total kills (13 solo, 49 assist). In addidtion to being A-R-C MVP and now All-American Honorable Mention, Wright was also selected to the AVCA All-Central Region team.
She is the lone volleyball student-athlete from the American Rivers Conference to be on any of the AVCA All-American teams.
