Box Score

TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Dubuque baseball team bounced back from their first loss of their spring break trip with an 8-3 victory over Concordia Wisconsin to close out their six game trip in Arizona.

How It Happened
-Just as they had many times before on the spring break trip, the Spartans got on the board first. Back-to-back doubles to lead off the bottom of the first from Jack Lasswell and JJ Valencia got the first run across and Valenica eventually scored on a balk to give the Spartans a two run first innings.
-A little two out rally began for UD in the second when Lasswell drew a two out walk before stealing second. Just like the first inning, Lasswell scored from second on a Valenica RBI base knock for the 3-0 lead.
-UD’s ace, Chase Kueter, held Concordia Wisconsin hitless through six innings, giving the Spartan offense enough time to build an 8-0 lead after UD added two more runs in the sixth and three in the seventh.
-Concordia Wisconsin was not able to get a run across on Kueter until getting one in the eighth and two in the ninth but by then the Spartan lead was insurmountable and Kueter would go the distance for his first complete game of the season.
