Baseball Notebook for A-R-C Tournament

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The University of Dubuque baseball team heads into the American Rivers Conference Tournament as the #4 seed and will open the tournament on Thursday, May 9th at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Mercy's Robert W. Plaster Athletic Complex in Cedar Rapids against Central College. The tournament runs Thursday, May 9th through Saturday, May 11th with Sunday, May 12th being used as a rain date. All games but the UD-Central will be played at Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium, the home of the Cedar Rapids Kernels.

The Spartans and Dutch square off for the fourth time this season. Just three weeks ago, the Spartans took two out of three from Central, after sweeping Saturday’s doubleheader by scores of 6-3 and 5-3. Central owns a 72-58 advantage in the all-time series between the two programs.

Notes
-The Spartans will look to defend their title after winning the 2018 conference tournament
-Chase Kueter is one win away from breaking the school’s career win record (19) and single season win record (7).
-The UD pitching staff has the second best team ERA in the A-R-C (3.96)
-Nathan Schneiderman has the best ERA among all elligble pitchers (0.96)
-Thomas Kempf currently has the third most RBI in the A-R-C (33), just two behind the leader (35)
-Kellen Mitchell leads the conference with 30 walks

Single-­day tickets are $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for students with a college ID or younger. American Rivers Conference faculty and staff may present their IDs for free admission as well.
