How it Happened
-The Spartans threatened in the very first inning of the season as Jack Lasswell and Justin Jensen singled to put runners on the corners with no outs. However, a line out and double play ended the Spartans early threat.
-There were only two more combined hits over the next three innings before Washington finally strung together two hits in the bottom of the fourth to break through for a 1-0 lead.
-The Bears took advantage of two UD errors in the bottom of the fifth and added two hits of their own to push the Spartans down 3-0.
-Washington continued to play small ball as they scored at least one run in both the seventh and eighth innings to score in four straight innings and push their lead to 6-0 through eight.
-Zach McCoy reached on a fielding error with one out in the ninth to give the Spartans their first base runner since the first inning. Justin Jenson would drive McCoy home with a single to right field for this second hit of the day.
-Kellen Mitchell would keep the Spartans alive in the ninth with their second straight RBI single to score Jensen and make it 6-2.

How it Happened
-Just like the first game, Washington jumped out to the early lead. The Bears used a UD error and two hits of their own in the second to plate one run. The damage could have been worse but the Spartans were able to strand the bases loaded
-The Spartans did not wait as long to get on the scoreboard in game two as they answered right back in the top of the third inning. Zach McCoy got the rally started by reaching on an error, before trading places on the bases with Jack Lasswell after he reached on a fielder’s choice. Lasswell was brought around to score when JJ Valencia singled to right center. Kellen Mitchell continued to pepper the gaps as he doubled to left center to place runners on second and third for Justin Jensen, who came up with a double of his own to left center to give UD a three run third inning.
-Washington threatened in the bottom of the fifth inning, putting two runners on with one out but Jordan Nelson relieved Tyler Carlson on the mound for UD and was able to escape the jam to keep it 3-1 in favor of the Spartans.
-Washington threatened again in the sixth but this time converted on their chance. The Bears had just one hit in the inning but two UD errors led to two Washington runs to tie the game at 3-3. It could have been worse for the Spartans but they got the Bears to ground into a double play to end the inning.
-Neither team could manage another run and before the start of the ninth inning the game was called due to darkness to end in a tie.
