TUCSON, Airz. – The University of Dubuque began their six game spring trip with a thriller on Sunday night, upending St. Thomas, 4-3 in 10 innings.

How It Happened
-After a scoreless three innings, the Spartans struck first in the top of the fourth. Justin Jensen and Thomas Kempf began the inning with back-to-back singles. A fielder’s choice put runners on the corners with one out for Jarad Clevenger, who delivered with a double, plating both runners.
-St. Thomas answered right back, piecing together three runs on three hits in the bottom of the fourth to grab a 3-2 lead over UD
-The Spartans evened it up in the top of the seventh when JJ Valencia came up with a clutch two out single to score Zach McCoy, who put himself in scoring position after stealing second base.
-UD finally regained the lead in the top of the 10th when junior Daulton Kvenvold drilled a one out triple, scoring Justin Jensen
-Nathan Schneiderman worked three innings in relief and escaped the 10th by stranding two Tommie runners for the win.
