CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - University of Dubuque track and field student athletes, Blaze Murfin and Alison Beeman have been named American Rivers Conference Performers of the Week for their performance over the weekend at the Minnesta State Mark Schuck Invite.

Murfin continues to rack up A-R-C Athlete of the Week Honors for men’s track and field, this time by being a double winner (shot put and weight throw) at the Division II Minnesota State Mark Schuck Invite. His weight throw mark of 20.39m, matched his own school record that is currently the top mark Division III. The Dallas City, Illinois, native totaled 20 points helped a split UD team to a 6th (out of 12) place finish besting numerous scholarship schools. This is Murfin’s eighth Indoor Track & Field – Field Performer of the Week accolade (1/28/19, 1/21/19, 12/10/18, 2/25/18, 2/11/18, 1/19/17, 1/22/17, 2/8/16).

Alison Beeman Set new school record in 200M in 25.63 ranking her #4 in NCAA currently. Her time of 25.63 in the 200m was good enough to finish third out of 43 runners. The junior from Lakemoor, Illinois, ran a 7.83 in 60M to finish seventh a setting a personal best time and claiming the second best time in UD history and the 12th fastest time in the nation in that event. This is her first Indoor Track Performer of the Week.
