Chart-Topping Country Powerhouse Lonestar Part of UD’s Homecoming Festivities

DUBUQUE, Iowa – University of Dubuque Heritage Center continues its sixth annual Live at Heritage Center Performing Arts Series with An Evening with Lonestar on Friday, Oct. 26, at 8:00 p.m. in John and Alice Butler Hall. For more than 20 years, Lonestar has logged countless miles touring the world, released several platinum-selling albums and 10 No. 1 singles, and earned ACM and CMA awards. Lonestar will bring their beloved songs to the Heritage Center for a special 2018 Homecoming concert.

Known for merging country roots with strong melodies and rich vocals, Lonestar, comprised of Richie McDonald (lead vocals), Michael Britt (lead guitar and backing vocals), Keech Rainwater (drums), and Dean Sams (keyboards and backing vocals), has amassed sales in excess of 10 million albums since their national launch in 1995. The group has achieved 10 No. 1 country hits including “No News,” “Come Cryin’ To Me,” and their crossover smash "Amazed" (which was also No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, the first record since 1983 to top both charts). The band's awards include a 1999 ACM Single of The Year for "Amazed" (the song also won Song of the Year), and the 2001 CMA Vocal Group of the Year. Lonestar's latest album, Never Enders, features 10 new original songs that bring the band's trademark sound into the contemporary arena. The band continues to perform over 100 dates worldwide every year.

A free preshow CyberCafé Knapp Stage concert will take place 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. featuring country roots musician Tanner Scheckel of Bellevue, Iowa. A UD Alumni Arts Show reception precedes the Lonestar performance in the Bisignano Art Gallery beginning at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to both.
