Match Notes: Chicago Duals

CHICAGO, Ill. – The University of Dubuque wrestling team heads to Chicago on Saturday for the University of Chicago Duals beginning at 1:00 p.m.
The Spartans last hit the mat on December 15th at the UD Duals, going 2-1 with wins over Milwaukee School of Engineering (30-16) and Wheaton (28-16). The lone loss at the UD Duals came at the hands of UW-Stevens Point, falling 25-17.
Four different Spartans that have wrestled more than seven varsity matches have winning records, led by Ethan Cain with a 6-2 mark at 197. Robert Melise has joined Cain at solidifying the heavier weights, going 4-3 at the 285 spot. Malik Milazzo has wrestled the most matches of any UD wrestler so far this season and has gone 9-7 in 16 matches at 174. Isaiah Williams has constant in the lineup the past season and a half and is off to a strong start in 2018 at 141 with a record of 8-6.
At the Chicago Duals the Spartans are joined by the host University of Chicago (1-1), Wabash (3-1) and Mount St. Joseph, who is in a rebirth of a program after taking the entire 2016-17 off to rebuild.
