McDaniel Earns A-R-C Player of Week for Second Time

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – University of Dubuque student-athlete Marcus McDaniel has been voted American Rivers Conference Player of the Week for men’s basketball, after helping lead the Spartans to a 2-0 week, including a win over #18 Loras.

In the two wins over Loras and Central, McDaniel averaged 23 points, shooting 53.6% from the field on 28 shots and 45.0% from three on 20 attempts. In the upset over #18 Loras, he dropped 21 points, before following that performance up with a 25 point game in a pivotal A-R-C match against Central. McDaniel also dished out four assists in each game and nabbed six steals, four of which came against the Dutch.

This is the second time this season that McDaniel has took home the award.

McDaniel and the Spartans will look to push their win streak to three game on Wednesday when they host Coe College at 8:00 p.m.
