Men's Basketball Lose on Senior Day, Prepare for A-R-C Tournament

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's basketball was hopring for a different outcome on senior day in Stoltz Sports Center on Saturday. The Spartans held a halftime lead of 38-37, but it was the Wartburg Knights who would out score the Spartans in the final 20 minutes to capture the final regular season game of the American Rivers Conference Season 71-61.
Just one Spartan would finish in double digit scoring, senior Marcus McDaniel who ended the day with 13 points and three assists. UD led for 16 minutes in the loss. The two teams will battle again soon, as they will face off in the opening round of the 2019 A-R-C Tournament on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m.
The Knights swept both contests of the regular season. The #3-seeded Wartburg won at home by a score of 82-65 on January 19 over the #6-seeded Spartans.
