Men's Soccer Bitten by Eagles Goal in Final Second

VERONA, Wis. - The University of Dubuque men’s soccer team allowed a goal off a corner kick in the final second of Thursday's match to Edgewood College to lose the contest by a 1-2 score.

How It Happened
- Ivan Sanchez gave the Spartans the early lead after scoring at 19:14 and Edgewood would knot the game at 1-1 after scoring right before halftime at 43:07
- It appeared the teams were headed into over time after UD's Daniel Backai made Edgewood's keeper save at 84:55 and teammates Chris Rigby shot at the 88 minute mark sailed wide left. 
- Edgewood's winning goal happened at 89:59 off a corner kick.
