Men's Track and Field Finish Runner-Up Conference Champs

Alison Beeman would claim two conference titles on Saturday by winning both the 100m and 200m dashes. She set a new conference championship record by winning the 100m dash in :11.93, eclipsing the old record of :11.94.
FINAL A-R-C CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's track and field team would finish runner-up in the 2019 American Rivers Conference Championships hosted by Coe College this week. The women's team would finish fourth overall. UD took home some additional hardware as the Spartans claimed three out of four A-R-C MVP's! UD was honored with the coaches voting Women's Track MVP: Alison Beeman, Women's Field MVP: Jenna Heimark, and Men's Field MVP: Blaze Murfin. Several meet records fell over the long weekend.
UD's Alison Beeman (Jr., Lakemoor, Ill.) and Gabrielle Noland (Jr., Rockford, Ill.) both beat the 100-meter dash record by .01 with times of 11.93. Beeman got the win on the photo finish. Blaze Murfin (Sr., Dallas City, Ill.) established a new league record in the hammer with a throw of 59.16 meters.
Last-chance meets are up next week for selected athletes, followed by the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 23-25 in Geneva, Ohio.
