Miah Smith Earns All-Conference Honors as a Freshman

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The American Rivers Conference released the 2018-19 Women’s Basketball All-Conference Team on Wednesday, where UD freshman Miah Smith was the lone Spartan to make any of the three teams, garnering honorable mention honors.
In her freshman campaign, Miah Smith played in 23 games, starting 18 and made a name for herself on the glass. Smith led the American Rivers Conference in rebounds with 215 total rebounds, 146 defensive rebounds and 69 on the offensive end for an average of 9.3 boards per game. She grabbed at least 10 rebounds in 12 different games, including the final five games and seven of the last eight.
She hauled in a season-high 15 rebounds three different times. Smith average 5.7 points per game, topping double-figures just once, with a season high 17 coming in a loss at Loras.
