DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Dubuque baseball team snapped a three game skid with a 4-2 win over Simpson College in game one of their weekend series.

-Simpson knotted the game at two all in the top of the fifth with a two-out base knock of their own to score a run.
-The scoring continued in the bottom of the fifth when Kellen Mitchell launched a home run over the right centerfield fence. It was the first home run by any Spartan this season.
-UD tacked on an insurance run in the seventh when Jack Lasswell doubled to left center and scored on a suicide squeeze off the bat of JJ Valencia for the 4-2 lead.
