Nichols Joins Volleyball Staff

DUBUQUE, Iowa - Head Coach April Elsbernd has announced the hiring of Whitney Nichols as a graduate assistant in volleyball.
Whitney Nichols will join the University of Dubuque women's volleyball team in 2019 as a graduate assistant in athletic administration and volleyball. Nichols is a native of Elkhart, Ill. and played at Mt. Pulaski High School (2015 graduate) and has experienced success throughout her volleyball career.
She accepted an athletic scholarship to Illinois Central College and played for the junior college for two seasons and graduated with an associates degree in graphic design and computer arts. She transferred to Greenville University in Greenville, Ill. where she continued her academic and athletic prowess. She was a key component fpr the Panthers helping them to back-to-back winning seasons along with three SLIAC championships (one regular season and two conference tournament championships). Grennville University were two-time national qualifiers in 2017 and 2018.
Nichols will receive her bachelor of science degree with emphasis in digital media in May of 2019. She will be pursuing her master's degree in sports management at UD.
