Reception to be Held for UD Alumni Art Show

DUBUQUE, Iowa – University of Dubuque’s Bisignano Art Gallery will host a reception for its latest exhibit, Alumni Art Show, on Friday, Oct. 26, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. in the art gallery, Heritage Center, 2255 Bennett Street. The reception is free and open to the public.
Over 40 works of art varying in style, subject matter, and media from 20 alumni are featured in the gallery. Students in UD’s Museum Studies class designed and completed the show with a catalog.
“These works are from students who graduated between 1951 and 2015 and, as you might suspect, the styles are quite different. It’s exciting to have so many pictures in one place at one time,” said Alan Garfield, director of the Bisignano Art Gallery.
The reception is held in conjunction with An Evening with Lonestar, which will begin at 8:00 p.m. in John and Alice Butler Hall, Heritage Center. Tickets for the live concert, part of the sixth annual Live at Heritage Center Performing Arts Series, are $44-$49 advance/$49-$54 day of show for adults, $34 advance/$39 day of show for UD alumni and military, and $20 advance/$25 day of show for children and non-UD students. The Alumni Art Show exhibit continues through Wednesday, Oct. 31.
Bisignano Art Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the academic year. The gallery is also open in conjunction with all major events staged in John and Alice Butler Hall. The gallery adjoins lobby space serving Babka Theatre and John and Alice Butler Hall.
